1% Architecture

Named 1% Architecture, a tribute to a culture of anti-conformism, the workshop aims to offer a different approach to architecture and design. Its founder, architect Waldemar Faddoul, has a true passion for details and aspires to design buildings, spaces, and objects with a purpose, a soul, and a unique character.

The workshop believes that architecture should be at the service of man, not the other way round. Without architecture, there is no identity, and without design, each objet would merely be a dull and soulless repetition.

After several years of designing homes and furniture for clients, the workshop has come to develop its own DNA and eventually launched its own homegrown collection of multipurpose furniture, named 1% Design. These creations illustrate the workshop’s commitment to preserving and promoting local handcraftsmanship. Each design is the result of a synergy between industrial technologies and traditional artisan competence, thereby crafting tomorrow’s heritage.

Believing in the power of diverse services, the company produces all sorts of furniture pieces, kitchens and decor.

The company under Elie’s management continues today thanks to his ability to embrace new trends he sees online, in exhibitions and customized styles his customers request.

Jamal Bittar

Ever since 1978, at the heart of Tripoli, Jamal Bitar, is known for his art and skills in weaving straw.

With his wide range of classic chairs and tables, he was always able to satisfy individual clients and furniture producers who sought his authentic products.

The ancestral know-how of our craftsmen holds precious knowledge which needs to be preserved, modernized and adapted to contemporary needs. The objects we are creating all come from the Levantine tradition, reflecting its lifestyle and identity in terms of detail, assembly, and material. We aim to add a contemporary Lebanese touch to the skills of our craftsmen and help rejuvenate and sustain the main core of this industry.
